OpenGov Brand Launch

As Lead Designer at OpenGov, I played a significant role in the company rebrand with our agency partner, including leading and implementing the new brand guidelines across hundreds of digital and print assets.

  • In mid-2024, after being acquired by Cox Enterprises and on a continued path of growth, OpenGov decided the time was right for a rebrand. As the Lead Designer on the client side, I was closely involved from the beginning with agency in the development of a completely new design system, including logo design, color palette, typography, photography and iconography direction. Once the brand guidelines were finalized after multiple months of collaboration, I was responsible for the implementation of the brand guidelines across hundreds of print and digital design assets and the overall project management of the implementation, managing the internal and freelance design team to accomplish a significant volume of work on a condensed timeline.

  • Upon receiving the finalized brand guidelines, I led the implementation and interpretation of the new brand guidelines across hundreds of digital and print assets, including web design, digital ads and ad templates, one pagers, Canva templates, social media, ebooks, event collateral, print design, environmental design, trade show graphics, among many others. I also managed the internal design team and freelancers in the completion of work, ensuring design consistency and quality and managing varied work on a condensed timeline; from the time we received brand guidelines to brand launch was only about six weeks.

Website

In collaboration with company and marketing leadership, I led the redesign of the company website, including updating the site wide styling and redesigning key pages of the website, including the home page, about us page and careers page, as well as designing and building dozens of existing and net new pages to showcase the company and its complex suite of products. All work was completed on a condensed timeline; from project kickoff to website launch was only about four weeks. In addition, I have continued to maintain and update the design of our WordPress instance, including regular updates and design improvements to individual pages, design patterns and site structure, as well as developing and maintaining our Figma design system for continued scalability.

Icon Set

In collaboration with our agency partner, I developed a set of icon guidelines that incorporated the core brand element, the Wand. Based on these guidelines, I developed an ever-growing set of over 100 icons, for use across digital and print assets, that conveyed the complexity of government workflows and the supporting SaaS software OpenGov provided in simple, easy to understand icons.
